Earlier this year in Detroit, many were surprised to see the Opel Insignia on this gigantic booth occupied by the many brands of GM group. And if some of them are now fallen by the wayside, including Pontiac and Hummer, we can not help thinking that, even then, GM was preparing the arrival of the Insignia into the territory North American, especially as the German had won the title of Car of the Year on the Old Continent.

However, it remained to find a coat of arms (mean by that mark), a name and a position reflected in the galaxy of GM products. We have heard the name of Saturn (now defunct) and the Cadillac (it will remember the Opel Omega, which had crossed the Atlantic in the 90s into the very confidential Cadillac Catera). But the Insignia is too Tiny to carry the prestigious name of Cadillac in which the public is customary vehicle for much more generous dimensions. There remained then the label Buick, a brand with a glorious past, and that GM wants just assured the redeployment.

And the first time? This is Buick Regal! A descriptive name to the ears of many Americans, although this model is out of the catalog of Buick there is already six years.
